Lunar Art (2023-2024)
The Team:
Lunar Habitat Shoe & Flooring (2021-2022)
Finalist (Winner)
The shoe is designed with a custom fit for each lunar astronaut. The upper is made of Nomex with infrared tested cooling vents for increased breathability and comfort. The shoe is also compatible with modified ESD flooring for enhanced traction and grip. The ESD flooring is modified with electrically conductive paint mixed with an anti-skid additive to dissipate static charge and to prevent the flooring from fraying.

Magnetic Boots (2021-2022)
Finalist (Winner)
The flexible design focuses on allowing astronauts to maintain their natural gait while walking comfortably with fluid natural movement, ensuring that the walking process does not hinder the integrity or strength of the magnetic hold of the boots. The design also allows astronauts to fully lock down onto the hull while working. The astronaut can also manually activate full magnetic hold as a safety feature.

Food Bite Dispenser (2020-2021)
Finalist (Winner)
The design for the food dispenser focuses on the simplicity of the product and its convenience for the user of the dispenser. The shape of the dispenser allows for large, substantial bites for an 8-hour trip. We also designed a rail system to allow for the row of dispensers to be moved in front of the mouth, or behind the head and out of sight.
